IME is glad to be associated with Dr. Shejwalkar, the janak of management education in Pune as Founder Director. Dr. Shejwalkar has more than 46 years of experience in graduate level teaching and more than three decades of teaching at the Post Graduate Level.
He is the senior-most Ph.D research guide at the University of Pune with more than seventy one students securing the doctorate under his able guidance. Dr. Shejwalkar is currently the dean of the faculty of management at the University of Pune, and also Professor-Emeritus of Commerce and Management Sciences in the University of Pune.
An IIMC (Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta) alumni, Dr. Shejwalkar earlier completed his Masters in Commerce from the Sydenham College, Mumbai after which he also completed his Doctorate in Economics from the University of Pune under the guidance of the Late Dr. T.M. Joshi.
Dr. Shejwalkar has been conferred with numerous awards and fellowships including those of All India Management Association (AIMA), National Institute of Personnel Management (NIPM). He has also received the prestigious "Pune's Pride" award of the Residency Club, Pune, in the year 1995 for his contribution to the field of Education.
He started the MBA programme in the University of Pune in the year 1971, and later the Institute of Management Development and Research (which is a premier Management school in Pune) in the year 1974. Dr. Shejwalkar retired from IMDR in the year 1989 which also saw the birth of I M E, THE place for Management Education...... and beyond.
